Lamoille Housing Partnership
Creating and Maintaining Affordable Housing
in Lamoille County since 1991
Some
frequently asked questions
about LHP:
What does Lamoille
Housing Partnership do?
A: LHP is a non profit
housing development organization serving the Lamoille Valley area.
We build or rehabilitate property for affordable housing and
maintain these properties. We also provide some housing
counseling services and work with other organizations,
public and private, to provide housing services to residents of
Lamoille County and Hardwick.
Do
you have any apartments to
rent?
A: We have apartments in
Hardwick, Jeffersonville, Johnson, Morrisville and Stowe.
These apartments are managed by property management
companies who maintain the buildings and place tenants. They
have all current vacancy information and process applications for most
properties. To get an application for housing, you can call us at
888-5714, or download an
application. You can reach Alliance Property
Managment, which manages most of our properties, at
802-899-3400.
Do you
help
people to purchase homes?
A: The
Homeland Program provides a grant to prospective homebuyers who meet
certain criteria. The grant helps the buyer to purchase the
home, but the funding stays with
the property. This means
that if the homeowner wishes to sell, there is a limit on the return
that can be taken in a resale. In this way the property stays
affordable in perpetuity. Contact us for more information.
Do
you help with foreclosure?
A: While
we do not offer foreclosure services, we refer foreclosure
inquiries from clients in our service area to the Central Vermont
Community Land Trust. CVCLT has
a homeownership center serving Lamoille County. They can be
reached at 476-4493 or on the web at cvclt.org.
(Hardwick
residents should contact
Gilman Housing Trust's Homeownership Center at 888-698-8466)
